Conventional Medicine and Cordyceps

Many patients with various ailments are choosing to use the conventional medications their physicians are prescribing for them, but are adding alternative supplements such as Cordyceps Sinensis to accelerate their healing.

This practice is often known as using complementary medicine or integrative medicine.  Medical practices that are considered in one country may be a standard method of treatment in a country with a history of homeopathic treatment.

One study conducted in 1998 found that such medical practices are prevalent in 13 countries, and are quite typical in Asian countries and Russia.  While these treatments may have begun as alternative medicine based on historical or cultural traditions, recent scientific experiments are confirming what the ancients knew about treating patients with supplements such as Cordyceps – healing times lessen,  patients see many ailments alleviated, and overall health takes a positive step forward.

Another study found that treatments which started off as being considered “alternative” frequently changed categories and found their way into standard medical practices as knowledge of the effectiveness of the treatment became more well known.

Because Cordyceps is an all natural product it can typically be used in conjunction with most medications prescribed by a physician.

Loaded with polysaccharides, nucleosides and cyclosporine, Cordyceps is known to stimulate the immune system, decrease blood sugar levels, have radio-protective effects and contain anti-cancer properties.

Alternative Chinese Medicine (TCM) has long focused on allowing the human body to restore its own self-regulating and self-healing agents with the use of natural supplements.  Many research studies using Cordyceps have shown it to stimulate the immune system by increasing the number of white blood cells in an individuals’ body.

Patients who are recovering from surgeries or long illnesses frequently utilize Cordyceps to shorten their recovery times.  While faithfully consuming the medications their surgeons or physicians have prescribed for them, such individuals supplement their treatment with this historically time-tested product.

An article from a well-read American newspaper reported that a “growing number” of physicians today practice integrative medicine.  Such medical practices were defined as using conventional medical treatments that also incorporate other forms of healing such as acupuncture and herbal or natural remedies.

Patients with serious illnesses can feel they are taking advantage of the best of both worlds: complying with their doctor’s orders for consuming traditional medications, but also supplementing their treatment process by relying on the well-known natural remedies such as Cordyceps.
